Can the 10/100M Ethernet MAC core which download from the www.opencores.org can be tested on
the Altera DE2 broad?

i want to make a projiect on DE2,but i have no DM9000a ip kit.can you sent it to me?

I am looking for this configuration for Ethernet MAC in DE2 too ; DM9000a is a mac+phy solution , you can not use mac core to connect with DM9000a , you need a phy daughter board ; Terasic had a gigabit phy daughter but it is very expensive ; I found http://www.national.com/pf/DP/DP83849C.html#Boards National's solution , but I am not sure does anyone used it sucessfully ?

While I haven't used it on a DE2 board you probably want one of these from Enterpoint instead. Its much smaller and uses the National chip set (which is of note because they are the only PHYs I know of that doesn't require an NDA to get a data sheet ...). John mentioned Enterpoint will be coming out with a National 10/100/1000 PHY but I haven't seen it listed yet on their site (I'm hoping it will be a reasonable price when it comes out as the 10/100 is :-)).

National's solution is good to me not only the datasheet but also it has cable diagnostic feature , I need it in my iphone .

I had tried it in FPGA. It didn't work, maybe it's due to my misuse
